Camp Gottastitch

November 14-17, 2008

What a great camp!

Cross My Heart wants to thank all our campers that attended Camp Gottastitch 2008 and want to let you know Camp Gottastitch 2009 will be at the same location!  Mark your calendars for November 6, 7 & 8 and watch this space for registration information.

Meanwhile, check out our Flickr page for pictures from this past weekend.  (Check out the snow on Monday morning!)

Who’s going to camp?

Hi Campers!

Welcome to camp!  We invite you to tell us a little bit about yourself and start chatting with the rest of the people coming to camp.

A little about me - your online camp host :-)

My name is Emily and I run the Camp website and the Cross My Heart website.  You may have seen me in the shop on Saturdays or Thursday nights as I work there then.  I also teach beginning linen and other little classes here and there.  And facilitate the “Trading Stitches” group which is a round robin that meets each month at the shop and trades every other month. (Email me to find out more and when our next Trading Stitches group will be starting) .

When I’m not working for the shop, I work at a mail order pharmacy during the day and design websites at night.  I’m a busy woman - but I do find time to stitch - sometimes!  That’s why Camp weekend is so great - all the cares and worries from the rest of the week disappear and I can concentrate on stitching.

I am so looking forward to seeing you all at Camp Gottastitch - there will be some surprises at Camp, too - and the premiere of a wonderful new kit from a famous designer.  Nope.  I’m not gonna tell you.  No matter how much you plead and beg.  Maybe.  :-)

Happy Stitching!
Emily

What’s with the frog?

the frogWhat’s with the frog? We’ve all done the “frog stitch.” The frog stitch is when you make a mistake - uh - artistic change that doesn’t work - and you have to “rip-it, rip-it, rip-it.” At camps and other retreats - if we catch you doing the frog stitch, little froggy comes and sits by you - at least until someone else owns up to another “rip-it.”

This little guy made an appearance at Nighty Nights this spring. He is soft, cute and ribbits. The frog lives at the shop, but is currently being fostered at one of the Cross My Heart staff houses. He doesn’t have a name yet, but we are taking suggestions!

Hi campers!

Welcome to the official Camp Gottastitch website. We want past campers to feel free to blog about their camping experience and hope that this year’s campers will have fun chatting with each other about this year’s camp. Pictures of past camps are soon to appear - as soon as I download them from my camera!

Camp Gottastitch is going to take over Mel & Mary’s Cottages, just outside of Charm, Ohio.  Camp officially begins on Friday. November 14 and ends on Sunday, November 16. Visit the “Register for Camp” page to see some of the extra deals we’ve cooked up for you. There will be lots of unstructured stitching time and we are planning a Sunday morning class. Feel free to email us with questions.
